On Friday, May 13th, Peace Action is hosting an event called:
"The Nuclear Threat: Turn Fear Into Action!"
Where: St. Andrew the Apostle Church, 124 Alden St., Syracuse
When: 5/13, 7 pm
Who: Rev. Bob Moore, Director, Coalition for Peace Action in Princeton NJ, PACNY representatives, and YOU!
What: Bob Moore, veteran peace activist and organizer, will be speaking about the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty, how US plans for new nuclear weapons and missile defense are threatening it, and what we can do to strengthen and uphold the global anti-nuclear movement.

"Maura's Story: A Japanese Journey"

WHAT: 1 Hour video about the life of Maura Soshin O'Halloran, a young Irish woman who trained at a Zen monastery in Japan in the late 1970's. After three years' practice, she received Dharma transmission from Go Roshi, but shortly afterward was killed in a bus accident at the age of twenty-seven. She kept a journal of her experiences, which, together with her letters, was published as "Pure Heart, Enlightened Mind," and Japanese television stations videotaped her many times.
